  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth Choose gluten-free if necessary.
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 pieces carrots, sliced

Seasonings

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

  • Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Slice the onion, mince the garlic, and chop the carrots.

Cooking

  • Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Season the round steak generously with salt, pepper, and thyme.
  • Layer the seasoned round steak on top of the onion and garlic mixture.
  • Scatter the sliced mushrooms and carrots around the steak.
  • Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce evenly over the top.
  • Cover and set the crockpot to cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Check the steak for doneness; it should be fork-tender.
  • Once cooked, carefully remove the steak, slice it, and serve with the cooking juices.

Notes

Customize with additional vegetables or spices according to your preference. Marinating the steak in advance can enhance flavor.
