Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate, chopped Use high-quality dark chocolate for best flavor.
  • 100 g unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • 150 g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Use flax eggs for a vegan version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100 g all-purpose flour Substitute with gluten-free flour blend for GF version.
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Nut Ingredients

  • 150 g mixed nuts, chopped (almonds, walnuts, pecans) Feel free to substitute with your favorite nuts or seeds.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Chop the dark chocolate and mixed nuts into smaller pieces.
  • Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Cooking

  • In a medium-sized saucepan over low heat, add the chopped dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Stir until melted and combined.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and frothy.
  • Slowly drizzle the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking continuously.
  • Gently fold in flour and salt until just combined.
  • Add chopped mixed nuts and fold until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the lined pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

These squares are best enjoyed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. For longer storage, freeze them tightly wrapped.
