  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional) semi-sweet or dark chocolate

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips for an extra fudgy texture.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For an extra indulgent touch, swirl in peanut butter, caramel, or sprinkle sea salt before baking. You can also top cooled brownies with melted chocolate or a dusting of powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for 3 months.
