Preparation

  • Prepare all ingredients by measuring accurately and preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir to evenly distribute.

Creaming Butter and Sugar

  • In another bowl, cream together room temperature butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Combine Wet Ingredients

  • Add flavored extract and hot water to the butter-sugar mixture and stir well.

Combine Mixtures

  • Gradually add dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Fold in toasted pecans gently.

Bake

  • Grease a 9x13 baking dish and pour the mixture into it, spreading it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
