Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, these deep fried marshmallows are an indulgent carnival-style dessert made with a light batter and powdered sugar finish.

Ingredients
  

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 large egg

Filling & Frying

  • 20 large marshmallows
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add milk and egg to the dry ingredients and whisk until a smooth batter forms.
  • Dip each marshmallow into the batter, fully coating it.
  • Carefully place battered marshmallows into the hot oil and fry for 30–45 seconds until golden brown.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and drain briefly on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

Serve immediately for best texture. You can also drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce for extra indulgence.
