Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  • Gently fold in the M&M's and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Spread the batter evenly into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown around the edges and slightly soft in the center.
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares or rectangles.
