  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed if frozen
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • optional toppings fresh fruit, chocolate drizzle, or powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 3×3 inch squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square. Do not overfill.
  • Fold each square into a triangle and seal the edges tightly with a fork.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving. Top with fruit, drizzle chocolate, or dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

To make ahead, prepare the filling and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. You can also freeze unbaked pastries and bake straight from frozen. For flavor variations, add fruit jam, lemon zest, or chocolate chips to the filling.
