Ingredients
  

Doughnut Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk Substitute almond milk or oat milk for dairy-free
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs Can substitute with flaxseed meal for vegan option
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk Use almond or coconut milk for dairy-free glaze

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your doughnut pan.

Mixing Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, combine milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

Combining Mixtures

  • Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.

Filling the Pan

  • Spoon the batter into the greased doughnut pan, filling each cavity two-thirds full.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cooling

  • Remove from oven and let the doughnuts cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

Preparing the Glaze

  • Mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Adjust milk for desired thickness.

Glazing

  • Dip the cooled doughnuts in the glaze and sprinkle with toppings if desired.

Setting the Glaze

  • Let the glazed doughnuts set on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. Can freeze and reheat for later enjoyment.
