Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 2 cups Apples, peeled and diced (any preferred variety) Use your favorite apple variety for sweetness.
  • ¼ cup Sugar You can adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon This adds warmth to the flavor.
  • ½ cup Caramel Sauce Store-bought or homemade.

For the wontons

  • 1 package Wontons (about 20-24 wrappers) Gluten-free wrappers can be used if desired.
  • 2 tbsp Butter, melted For brushing on wontons.
  • Oil Spray for air frying Lightly spray for cooking.

Preparation

  • Peel and dice your apples. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Take one wonton wrapper and place it on a flat surface. Add a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center and drizzle a small amount of caramel sauce over the apples.
  • Fold the wonton in half to encase the filling and seal the edges by pinching or using a little water.

Cooking

  • Brush the sealed wontons lightly with melted butter and spray them lightly with oil.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the wontons in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren’t touching.
  • Cook the wontons for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  • Once cooked, remove the wontons from the air fryer and serve warm with additional caramel sauce and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

To store leftovers, place in an airtight container. They can be reheated in the air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 350°F. For freezing, arrange uncooked wontons on a baking sheet and freeze until solid before transferring to a freezer bag.
