  • Chef’s knife

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 croissants fresh or bakery-style
  • 1 medium apple thinly sliced
  • 115 g goat cheese softened
  • 15 ml honey plus extra for drizzling
  • 0.25 g ground cinnamon optional

Optional

  • fresh arugula for a savory touch
  • balsamic glaze for drizzling before serving
  • chopped walnuts or pecans for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice each croissant horizontally in half to create a top and bottom layer.
  • In a small bowl, mix goat cheese, honey, and ground cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread the cheese mixture evenly on the bottom halves of the croissants.
  • Arrange thin apple slices over the goat cheese layer. Add arugula if desired for a fresh flavor contrast.
  • Place the top halves of the croissants over the fillings and gently press down.
  • Transfer croissants to the prepared baking sheet and warm in the oven for 5–7 minutes until the cheese is soft and the croissants are crisp.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with extra honey or balsamic glaze, and garnish with chopped nuts if desired.

Notes

Store leftover croissants in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 175°C for 5 minutes before serving. For a vegan version, use plant-based cheese and agave syrup instead of honey. Apples can be substituted with pears or peaches for a seasonal twist.
