Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use any variety: semi-sweet, dark, or dairy-free.
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk For a dairy-free version, use plant-based condensed milk.
  • 1 cup cherry extract or cherry preserves Substituting with raspberry or almond extracts works too.
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts Optional for added crunch.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Measure out the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, cherry extract or preserves, walnuts, vanilla extract, and salt. Have your 8-inch square baking dish lined with parchment paper ready to go.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir slowly until the mixture is fully melted and smooth, creating a glossy chocolate base. This should take about 5–7 minutes.

Mixing Flavors

  • Once the chocolate mixture is smooth, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the cherry extract (or preserves) and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • If you’re using walnuts, fold them into the fudge mixture gently. Be careful not to overmix.

Setting

  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to smooth the top.
  • Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  • Once the fudge is set, lift the parchment paper out and cut it into squares.

Serving

  • Enjoy immediately or store for later.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze.
