Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Dice the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and mince the garlic. Wash the broccoli and cut it into florets.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot but not smoking, add the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute.
  • Add the diced chicken to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for around 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Stir in the broccoli and cover the skillet with a lid. Allow to steam for about 5 minutes until tender.
  • If using soy sauce, pour it into the skillet after the broccoli has steamed, stirring to coat the chicken and broccoli.
  • Taste the dish and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve over rice.

Notes

For variations, consider adding other vegetables or using tofu for a vegetarian option. Make ahead for easy meal prep.
