  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 oz pasta (such as penne or rigatoni)
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken pieces, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  • While the sauce simmers, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain the pasta, saving a bit of pasta water.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the chicken and sauce. Toss until well-coated, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese on top and cover the skillet for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.

Serving

  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
