Crust and Base

  • 1 pie crust 1 pie crust Can use store-bought or gluten-free options.

Filling

  • 6 large 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup 1 cup milk Any type of milk can be used, including dairy-free alternatives.
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss) Feta or goat cheese can be used as alternatives.
  • 1 cup 1 cup diced vegetables (such as bell peppers, spinach, or onions) Seasonal veggies can be used.
  • 1 cup 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage (optional) Use turkey bacon for a lean version.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Fresh herbs Optional for presentation.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place your pie crust in a greased pie dish, pressing it into the dish and trimming excess dough.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the 6 large eggs and 1 cup milk.
  • Stir in the 1 cup shredded cheese, 1 cup diced vegetables, and, if using, add 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Carefully pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the top is lightly golden and the center is set.
  • Once baked, let the quiche cool for a few minutes.
  • Slice into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature, garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for longer storage. Reheat in the oven or microwave as needed. Avoid a soggy crust by pre-baking slightly.
