  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • 2 pieces Eggs

  • 3 ½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 heaping tsp Baking Powder
  • none Optional gel food coloring For coloring the cookie dough

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and equipment. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and chill your baking sheet in the fridge.
  • In an electric mixer, combine the softened butter and margarine and beat until fluffy and creamy.
  • Gradually add sugar in halves, beating well between additions. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until fully combined.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt until integrated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder, then slowly add to the wet mixture, folding gently.
  • Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
  • Load your cookie press according to instructions and choose your desired shapes.
  • Press cookie shapes onto the ungreased baking sheet, leaving space for expansion.
  • Add any sprinkles or sanding sugar before baking.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Avoid overmixing the dough and ensure to chill it properly to maintain the shape of cookies.
