  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of honey, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract until fully blended.
  • Gently stir in 1/2 cup of hot water.

Mixing

  • In another bowl, mix together flour, light brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 28-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Drizzle the remaining 1/4 cup of honey over the top immediately after baking.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Slice the cake and serve it plain or with toppings like whipped cream or fresh fruits.
