Ingredients
  

Donut Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • food coloring optional
  • sprinkles or colorful toppings for decoration

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together until combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Add food coloring if desired, and lightly swirl it through the batter for a marbled effect.
  • Fill each donut cavity about two-thirds full using a piping bag or spoon.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Decorate with icing and sprinkles as desired, then serve and enjoy!

Notes

Store donuts in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, warm in the microwave for 10–15 seconds or bake in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep donuts light and fluffy.
