Ingredients
  

Gravy Base

  • 1 cup Turkey drippings From your roasted turkey, warmed
  • ΒΌ cup All-purpose flour Used to thicken the gravy
  • 2 cups Chicken or turkey broth Low sodium preferred

  • to taste nm Pepper Adjust according to preference

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and ensure the turkey drippings are warm.

Cooking

  • In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the turkey drippings over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Quickly whisk in the all-purpose flour, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Gradually add the chicken or turkey broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, which takes about 5 minutes.
  • Let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes until it reaches the desired thickness.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.
  • Serve hot over turkey, mashed potatoes, or stuffing.

Notes

For a thicker gravy, reduce the amount of broth. Add fresh herbs or spices for extra flavor. Freezing for up to three months is possible, but reheat gently, adding more broth if necessary.
