Ingredients
  

Cupcake Base

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • Food coloring (for customization)

Toppings

  • Frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Sprinkles (optional, for garnish)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your muffin tin by lining it with cupcake liners.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  • Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk, and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  • If desired, divide the batter into separate bowls and mix in food coloring to create different shades.

Baking

  • Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and let cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting & Decorating

  • Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, frost them with your choice of icing and add sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for longer storage. Can be frozen for up to three months.
