  • ½ teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Topping

  • ¼ cup 1/4 cup heavy cream For topping
  • Caramel shards For garnish

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. If you’re using a homemade tart shell, make sure it is pre-baked and cooled.

Making the Filling

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined and fluffy.
  • Gradually pour in the eggnog while whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
  • Carefully pour the eggnog mixture into the pre-prepared tart shell.

Baking

  • Place the tart in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. It is ready when the filling is set but slightly jiggles in the center.

Cooling

  • Once baked, remove the tart from the oven and allow it to cool completely on the counter.
  • Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours to enhance the flavors.

Topping and Serving

  • Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form.
  • Spread the whipped cream generously over the tart and garnish with caramel shards.
  • Slice the tart into generous pieces and serve chilled.
