Ingredients
  

Pastry Base

  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Apple Mixture

  • 2 apples Peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Egg Wash

  • 1 egg Beaten for egg wash

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and ensure cream cheese is at room temperature.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut the rolled-out pastry into rectangles, ensuring ample filling space.

Filling Preparation

  • Combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, espresso powder, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
  • In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and sugar.

Assembly

  • Place a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry rectangle.
  • Arrange apple slices on top and fold corners of pastry over filling.
  • Apply egg wash to the outside of each pastry.

Baking

  • Transfer pastries to a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Can be customized with other fruits or flavors. For a vegan version, use plant-based cream cheese and a vegan egg wash. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
