  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 2 large eggs Use an egg replacement if needed.
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil Can substitute with coconut oil or applesauce.

Decorative toppings

  • 1 cup white chocolate or vanilla frosting Feel free to use chocolate frosting instead.
  • 1 bottle red food coloring
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or M&Ms
  • 1 package candy eyeballs Alternatively, make your own using frosting and chocolate chips.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and tools.
  • Preheat your oven according to the brownie mix instructions, typically around 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease your baking pan.

Making the Brownie Batter

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, water, and oil as per the instructions on the box.
  • Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Baking

  • Pour the brownie batter into the greased baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake according to the package instructions, usually around 20-30 minutes.

Cooling and Frosting

  • Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Spread a layer of frosting on top of the brownies once cooled.

Decoration

  • Mix red food coloring into a tablespoon of water to create a blood effect.
  • Drizzle the red mixture around the brownies.
  • Place candy eyeballs on top of the frosted brownies.
  • Add chocolate chips or M&Ms for extra decoration.

Serving

  • Cut the brownies into squares and serve on a decorative platter.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freezing is also an option.
