Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients, ensuring that the butter is softened.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Mixing

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.

Baking
