  • 2 large eggs Replace with flaxseed meal mixture for egg-free.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch tart pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and eggs.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the sliced apples.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared tart pan.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes, until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool for a few minutes before removing from the pan.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired, slice, and serve.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the batter and ensure to grease the pan well to prevent sticking.
