  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 can fruit cocktail (including the syrup)
  • ½ cup melted butter Can substitute with coconut oil for dairy-free option.
  • 1 cup chopped nuts Optional.
  • ½ cup shredded coconut Optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Pour the canned fruit cocktail (including the syrup) into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly at the bottom.

Cake Assembly

  • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the fruit cocktail. Do not stir.
  • Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix.
  • If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts and shredded coconut on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Serving

  • Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Notes
