  • Whisk
  • 9×9-inch baking pan
  • Saucepan
  • Spatula
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • optional toppings chocolate chips or nuts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and glossy.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the brownies fudgy.
  • Fold in optional toppings like nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the edges are set but the center is slightly soft.
  • Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before lifting out and slicing into squares.

Notes

For an even richer texture, slightly underbake the brownies. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerate for a week. Add a hint of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor or top with caramel drizzle for extra indulgence.
