Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Slice the beef and chop the onion. Rinse the rice under cold water until clear.

Cooking the Base

  • In a large skillet, melt the garlic butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 4-5 minutes.

Browning the Beef

  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced beef. Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until browned, then flip and brown all sides.

Adding the Rice

  • Stir the rice into the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes, toasting it slightly.

Combining Ingredients

  • Pour in the beef broth, salt, pepper, and soy sauce. Stir gently and bring to a boil.

Simmering

  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 20 minutes.
