  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided 1 stick
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup dry white wine (such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • to taste salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound linguine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Prep your workspace and ingredients by ensuring your kitchen is tidy and organized. Gather all your ingredients and tools.
  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until it begins to bubble.
  • Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  • Pour in the white wine and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits stuck to the pan. Let simmer for a few minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and add remaining butter, swirling until melted. Stir in lemon juice, parsley, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a separate pot, boil salted water and add linguine, cooking according to package directions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  • Add the drained pasta directly to the skillet with the sauce and toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Fold the cooked shrimp into the pasta and heat through for a minute. Serve garnished with parsley and Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcooking shrimp and burning garlic. Consider adding lemon zest or fresh herbs for enhanced flavors.
