  • 8 ounces sliced turkey Use deli or homemade turkey.
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese Can be swapped with Swiss or Havarti cheese.
  • 4 tablespoons Dijon mustard Substitute with spicy or honey mustard if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons butter For a dairy-free option, replace with olive oil or coconut oil.

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and measure them out.
  • Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Layer the sliced turkey evenly on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.
  • Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the turkey.
  • Top with the other two slices of bread, mustard side down, and press down gently.

Cooking

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip the sandwiches and repeat the cooking process on the other side.
  • Once both sides are golden and the cheese is melted, remove sandwiches from skillet.

Serving

  • Slice sandwiches diagonally and serve warm.

Notes

For better results, avoid overstuffing the sandwiches and always use room temperature ingredients. Reheat in a skillet over low heat for a crispy texture.
