Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup ketchup plus extra for topping
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, onion, and garlic. Mix gently until combined.
  • Add breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Shape the mixture into a brain-like form on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Remove from oven and spread ketchup generously over the top to create a ‘bloody’ effect.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve on a festive platter.

Notes

For a leaner version, substitute ground turkey or chicken. To make gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. Plant-based meat alternatives also work well for a vegetarian option.
