  • 40 pieces saltine crackers Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil or a vegan butter substitute.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Regular granulated sugar can be used with a bit of molasses for flavor.

Topping Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips Choice of dark, milk, or white chocolate.
  • 1 cup assorted Halloween candies Examples include M&Ms or Reese's Pieces.
  • to taste tablespoons sprinkles Optional for additional decoration.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Making the Caramel

  • In a saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until bubbling.
  • Boil for about 3 minutes without stirring until the mixture turns a caramel color.

Assembly

  • Pour the bubbling mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  • Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the hot mixture, allowing them to melt.
  • Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the candy.
  • Sprinkle assorted Halloween candies and optional sprinkles on top.

Finishing Touches

  • Let the candy cool completely at room temperature until it hardens.
  • Once cooled, break the candy into pieces.

Notes
