Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Oven
  • Toothpicks
  • Small bowls for dips

Ingredients

Spooky Popcorn

  • 1 cup popcorn kernels (or 1 bag microwave popcorn)
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ½ cup candy corn
  • cup chocolate chips (or chocolate for drizzling)

Cheese & Olive Spiders

  • 8 oz cheddar cheese (or choice), cubed
  • 1 can pitted olives for spider bodies / legs
  • To taste salt

Mummy Hot Dogs

  • 1 can crescent roll dough
  • 8 mini hot dogs
  • As needed mustard or ketchup for eyes / decoration

Chips & Dips

  • One bag tortilla chips
  • Your choice dip (salsa, guacamole, or cheese)

Decorative Ghost Marshmallows

  • Ghost-shaped marshmallows

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for baking mummy hot dogs.
  • Pop the popcorn according to package instructions (or stovetop). Drizzle melted butter over popcorn, add salt to taste, then mix in candy corn. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over popcorn. Set aside to cool.
  • Make cheese & olive spiders: Cube the cheese and use toothpicks plus pieces of olive to assemble ‘legs’ and ‘body’ for spider shapes.
  • For mummy hot dogs: Unroll crescent roll dough, cut into strips, wrap around mini hot dogs leaving a small gap for ‘eyes’. Place on baking sheet.
  • Bake mummy hot dogs 12-15 minutes or until golden and flaky.
  • Arrange tortilla chips on serving platter. Place dips in small bowls around them.
  • Assemble the full platter: frightened popcorn mix, cheese spiders, mummy hot dogs, chips & dips, and ghost-shaped marshmallows for decoration.

Notes

Some components (popcorn, chips & dips) can be prepared ahead of time. Store spooky popcorn in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Mummy hot dogs can keep in the fridge 2-3 days. Chips stay crunchy if kept dry. Avoid microwaving baked items to preserve texture.
