Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup chocolate chips can use dark chocolate for a richer flavor
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips can substitute with additional chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup peanuts optional; can substitute with sunflower seeds for nut-free version

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Measure out the chow mein noodles, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, mini marshmallows, and peanuts.

Cooking

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between until melted and smooth.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add chow mein noodles and peanuts if using.
  • Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the noodles and peanuts, and gently fold until well-coated.
  • Fold in mini marshmallows until evenly mixed.
  • Scoop clusters onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes until set.

Serving

  • Once set, serve the treats to friends and family, or enjoy as a snack at any time.

Notes

Store in an airtight container. They last about a week at room temperature or longer in the fridge. For freezing, layer clusters with parchment paper and keep in a freezer-safe container for up to three months.
