Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour provides fiber and a nutty flavor
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup honey natural sweetener
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup water adjust as needed for dough consistency

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, rolled oats, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add honey and softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until a coarse mixture forms.
  • Gradually add water until the dough comes together. It should be soft but not sticky.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Use animal-shaped cookie cutters to cut out crackers and place them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

For vegan crackers, replace butter with coconut oil and honey with maple syrup. Add cinnamon, vanilla, or cocoa for extra flavor. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
