Ingredients
  

For the Hibiscus Base

  • 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers Use high-quality dried hibiscus for the best flavor.
  • 6 cups water 4 cups for boiling, 2 cups for mixing.

For Sweetening and Flavor

  • 1 cup sugar Adjust to taste; can substitute with stevia or agave syrup.
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best.
  • to taste Lemon slices For garnish.
  • to taste Fresh mint For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Measure out 2 cups of dried hibiscus flowers and gather the other ingredients.

Cooking

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  • Add the dried hibiscus flowers and let them steep for about 10 minutes.

Mixing

  • Strain the hibiscus mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.
  • Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and gradually stir in the sugar until dissolved.
  • Pour in the fresh lemon juice and mix well.

Chilling and Serving

  • Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1-2 hours.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint.

Notes

Hibiscus Lemonade can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Customize with fresh fruit or herbs for variations.
