Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 4-5 medium potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth for moisture

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet. Brown ground beef until cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion and garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Season beef mixture with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
  • Grease a 9x13 baking dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  • Spread beef mixture evenly over potatoes.
  • Top with cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
  • Pour beef broth around the edges of the dish.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and potatoes are tender.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

For a twist, try using sweet potatoes, add mushrooms, or swap cheddar for mozzarella. Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
