  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar Adds depth to the flavor.

Flavor Enhancers

  • 1 tablespoon almond extract Key flavor component.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup brandy Optional for additional flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients: vodka, white sugar, brown sugar, almond extract, vanilla extract, and optional brandy.
  • In a saucepan, combine white sugar, brown sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugars dissolve completely to create a simple syrup.
  • Once the sugars have dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.

Mixing

  • In a large bottle, combine the cooled simple syrup with vodka, almond extract, vanilla extract, and brandy if using.
  • Seal the bottle tightly and shake gently to mix all the ingredients thoroughly.

Aging

  • Place the sealed bottle in a cool, dark place to age for at least two weeks.
  • Taste after two weeks and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more simple syrup.

Serving

  • Serve Homemade Amaretto over ice, mix it into coffee, or use it in various desserts.

Notes

Store in a cool, dark cupboard. Can be refrigerated if you prefer it cold. Experiment with different flavors for a personalized touch.
