Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded Classic cheese for gooey texture.
  • ½ cup pepperoni, sliced A popular topping.
  • ¼ cup pizza sauce Brings everything together.

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Ensure the water is warm, but not too hot.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast, mixing well.
  • Add warm water and olive oil to the dry mix and stir until it begins to form a shaggy dough.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Punch down the risen dough, roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick, and cut into circles.
  • On one half of each circle, place shredded mozzarella, sliced pepperoni, and a dollop of pizza sauce.
  • Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges.
  • Place the filled pockets on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Allow the dough to rise for a fluffy texture; make sure to store filled pockets in an airtight container after cooling.
