This irresistible Homemade Sweet BBQ Sauce combines the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and smoky flavors. Made in just 15 minutes, it’s ideal for grilled meats, roasted veggies, or as a dipping sauce.
Measure all ingredients and have them ready before cooking.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir well.
Add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat, taste, and adjust seasoning if needed. Let it cool slightly before serving or storing.
Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add 1–2 tablespoons of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper. You can also use honey instead of brown sugar for a different sweetness.
