  • Powdered sugar For dusting the surface.

Preparation

  • Start by measuring out your ingredients.
  • In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and corn syrup over low heat.
  • Stir continuously until the mixture has melted and is smooth, about 5–10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the gelatin and flavoring until thoroughly incorporated.
  • Add food coloring if desired and stir well.
  • Pour the mixture onto a clean surface dusted with powdered sugar, spreading it out evenly.
  • Let it cool for a couple of minutes until manageable.
  • Knead gently until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Shape the gum into fun designs using cookie cutters or by hand.
  • Allow to set at room temperature for a couple of hours.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature, dusted with powdered sugar to prevent sticking. Check for dietary restrictions and make necessary substitutions as needed.
