Honey-Glazed Peach Crumble Bars

Ingredients
  

For the Crumble Base

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup brown sugar Packed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened Can substitute with vegan butter or coconut oil
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon Optional: add a pinch of nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar For glaze

For the Filling

  • 2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced Can use thawed frozen peaches
  • ¼ cup honey Can substitute with maple syrup for lower sugar version

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  • Gather all ingredients including peeling and slicing the peaches.

Making the Crust

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press two-thirds of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Assembling the Bars

  • Layer the sliced peaches over the crumb base.
  • Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the peaches.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before slicing.

Making the Glaze

  • In a small saucepan, combine honey and granulated sugar over low heat until melted and combined.
  • Drizzle the honey glaze over the cooled bars before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, or freeze individually for up to three months. Optional toppings include ice cream or whipped cream.
