Ingredients
  

For the spiced butter mix

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is softened for easy mixing.
  • ½ cup brown sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

For each serving

  • 2 ounces dark rum Spiced rum can be used for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup hot water Boil water until just about to simmer.
  • Optional cinnamon stick, whipped cream, or orange peel twist for garnish Garnish to enhance flavor and presentation.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and ensure the butter is softened.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.

Making the Cocktail

  • Spoon about two heaping tablespoons of the spiced butter mix into a heatproof mug.
  • Pour 2 ounces of dark rum over the spiced butter in the mug.
  • Add 1 cup of hot water to the mug, pouring it over the rum and butter mixture.
  • Stir vigorously until the butter is fully melted and the drink is creamy.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick, whipped cream, or a twist of orange peel if desired.
  • Serve immediately while warm and enjoy.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, consider using coconut oil instead of butter. Adjust sweetness and spice levels to your preference.
