  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fudge Topping

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.75 cups boiling water

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Stir in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Combine until you have a smooth batter.

Assembly

  • Grease a baking dish thoroughly and pour the batter into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar with the 1/4 cup cocoa powder, then sprinkle this mixture over the batter without stirring.
  • Carefully pour the boiling water over the top of the batter without stirring.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and a fudge layer forms underneath.

Serving

  • Let the dessert cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream.

Notes
