Apple Fritter Bread Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp

Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk for glaze consistency

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate bowl, beat sugar, eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in diced apples gently until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth and pourable.
  • Cool the bread for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle glaze over cooled bread.
  • Slice and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy with coffee or tea!

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or swirl in caramel before baking. Use gluten-free flour or nut milk for dietary adjustments. Best apples: Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
