Ingredients
  

For the base

  • 1 bottle 750ml of red wine (Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon) Choose a good quality wine
  • 1 cup brandy (or orange liqueur) Optional; for lower-alcohol version, use sparkling juice
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup simple syrup Adjust to taste based on sweetness preference

For the fruit

  • 1 medium apple, cored and diced Any variety works; choose fresh
  • 1 medium orange, sliced Can substitute with other citrus fruits
  • 1 cup cranberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 stick cinnamon stick Adds depth of flavor
  • to taste club soda or ginger ale, for topping
  • for garnish fresh mint leaves

Preparation

  • Begin by prepping your fruits. Dice the apple, slice the orange, and rinse the cranberries.
  • In a large pitcher or bowl, combine the wine, brandy, orange juice, and simple syrup. Stir well.
  • Gently fold in the diced apples, sliced oranges, and cranberries.
  • Include the cinnamon stick into the sangria.
  • Cover the pitcher and let the sangria chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Before serving, taste the sangria and adjust the sweetness if necessary.
  • Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the sangria over ice, and top with a splash of club soda or ginger ale.
  • Garnish each drink with a fresh mint leaf and serve.

Notes

Ideal for large gatherings and can be prepared in advance. Best enjoyed within 24 hours for optimal freshness.
