  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices mini or regular, or turkey pepperoni
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or dried Italian herbs
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 pinch salt

Optional Add-Ins

  • ¼ cup chopped bell peppers optional
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives optional
  • fresh basil for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, 1/2 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread the cheese mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the cheese layer, being careful not to mix them.
  • Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the sauce.
  • Top with pepperoni slices and optional bell peppers or olives.
  • Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and hot.
  • Switch the oven to broil for 2 minutes to brown the top slightly. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or red pepper flakes if desired.

Serve this dip with toasted baguette slices, pita chips, or fresh vegetable sticks for a fun and shareable appetizer. For a vegetarian version, skip the pepperoni and add roasted vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
