Ingredients

Cookie Dough Base

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups colorful gumdrops chopped
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
  • Gently fold in chopped gumdrops and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Add a slice of bread to the container to keep cookies soft. Optional flavor twist: add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for a warm holiday note.
