Ingredients
  

For the burger patties

  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with lean turkey or chicken for a healthier option
  • 1 piece jalapeno, diced Adjust based on heat preference
  • 1 piece onion, finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

For assembly

  • 4 pieces burger buns Opt for gluten-free buns if necessary
  • 4 slices cheese Optional; try pepper jack for extra spice

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by gathering and measuring all your ingredients.
  • Wash and dice the jalapeno and finely chop the onion. Set aside.

Mixing

  • In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, diced jalapeno, chopped onion, salt, and pepper gently.

Forming Patties

  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into thick patties.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.
  • Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until desired doneness.
  • If using cheese, add a slice on each patty and cover for the last minute to melt.

Assembling

  • Toast the burger buns while patties finish cooking.
  • Assemble the burgers with desired toppings and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for three months.
