KFC Coleslaw Copycat

Ingredients
  

Vegetables

  • 1 small head green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, grated

Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise Can be substituted with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • ¼ cup buttermilk Can use regular milk with vinegar or lemon juice as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Can substitute with a natural sweetener like agave or honey.
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Shred the green cabbage finely and use a box grater for the carrots.

Combine Vegetables

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots. Toss gently until evenly mixed.

Make the Dressing

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

Mix Dressing with Vegetables

  • Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Toss until well coated.

Chill the Coleslaw

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour.

Taste and Adjust Seasoning

  • Taste the coleslaw after chilling and adjust seasonings if necessary.

Serve

  • Transfer to a serving bowl, give a final toss, and garnish as desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Flavors will intensify over time. Not recommended to freeze.
