  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 pieces green onions, sliced For garnish.
  • 2 cups cooked rice White or brown rice may be used.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds For garnish.

Preparation

  • Gather and prepare all ingredients—mince garlic, grate ginger, and slice green onions.

Cooking

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  • Return skillet to medium heat and add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Mix well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • While beef is simmering, ensure your rice is cooked and fluff it before serving.

Assembly

  • Spoon the beef mixture over a scoop of rice.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Serving

  • Serve hot, optionally with pickled vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding gochujang for heat or fresh herbs like cilantro. Use cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
